Featured Story - Cambridge Bay, NU

Kuugaq Cafe

One of he shinning stars in Cambridge Bay's business sector is The kuugaq Cafe. Cambridge Bay is one of the most northern communities in Canada, but as the hub of the Kitikmeot region, the community sees a lot of travellers—and the new Canadian High Arctic Research Station brings researchers from across the world to Kuugaq’s door. Kuugaq also caters some of the many meetings in town. They have also now just partnered to provide the new merged Canadian North Airline flights out of Cambridge Bay with food for all outgoing flights. The future is bright for this ever growing business. Make sure you eat here.

Featured Story - Gjoa Haven, NU

Cap Enterprises LTD

CAP Enterprises is an Inuit-registered, NNI approved contracting company that was started in Gjoa Haven, Nunavut in 2002. The owners Cahill, Akkikungnaq and Porter used an acronym of their surnames to create CAP. CAP provides a variety of services - primarily heavy equipment and construction work. However over the years CAP has expanded to include property management and airport maintenance services and an auto repair business. CAP has a subsidiary, the Gjoa Haven Bed & Breakfast, which is also an Inuit registered, NNI approved company. The Bed & Breakfast consists of 10 separate detached houses that can accommodate up to 34 people and is suitable for either short-term or long-term stays.

Featured Story - Kugluktuk, NU

Enokhok Inn 

Enokhok Inn (Kugluktuk) has 12 rooms in the main building with queen size beds and all rooms have satellite TV and Wi-Fi access. They provide a continental breakfast, lunch, and supper is also available. The Inn also has 3 executive 2 bedroom suites that are self contained and fully furnished including washer and dryer. They also have a a location in Cambridge Bay, NU offering similar services but also have a 3 bedroom suite for those larger groups that want to stay close. Free airport pick up and  ATV rental available at both locations. This growing business has now also started a plumbing and electrical division to their company and soon an IT division.
